Team Globalisation Institute to enter Mongol Rally PDF
Written by Alex Singleton

The Mongol Rally is an 8000 mile race across a quarter of the world's surface from London all the way to Mongolia - in vehicles with a maximum 1.0 litre engine. Anthony 'The Batty' Batty, co-author of the GI report Green and Pleasant Land, and Richard 'Tricky' Mitchell will be entering the race as Team Globalisation Institute. They have done their research on car reliability and bought a £200 Nissan Micra on eBay, which (if it doesn't break down in Calais) will be sold at the end for charity. For five weeks or so, starting 22 July, it will not only be their mode of transport but also their home. They will also be raising at least £1000 in sponsorship for two charities: Send a Cow and Mercy Corps. We'll be tracking their progress here during the race.
