| Transparency International Kenya: fighting corruption in practical ways |

Richard and I from the GI met yesterday with Lisa Karanja (Deputy Executive Director) and Felgona Atieno (Communications Programme) of Transparency International Kenya. We found out about successes in fighting corruption and how Transparency International has been helping. For example, TI was approached by the Water Authority to do an audit of the accounts and was able to make recommendations which were implemented, and has been able to give the green light of approval. Another way corruption has be fought is by putting the P3 police form as a PDF on the internet (to report an attack) whereas once a "fee" could be charged when getting the form from a police station. |
